WHY DO WE NEED A SURVEY? Before you close on your real estate transaction, it is wise to have an accurate knowledge of where the boundaries of your property are located. If survey monuments have been placed by a Licensed Land Surveyor, as evidenced by a current Survey Plat, you can feel confident that the boundaries are accurate.  The survey plat would notify you of any encroachments and would be helpful in obtaining a clear title to your property.  It may also be required to obtain title insurance, mortgage loans or for any future improvements on your property.
